Easy Beef Stroganoff (with the Thermomix)

Posted by Divine Chef on

This is a one-pot comfort food that never fails to please and seriously very easy to prepare. For lazy days, or those dreary days when its stormy or wet and you really do not want to step out of the house, this will be that one pot dish that will feed everyone and the only starch needed to go with the dish in my opinion is buttered spaghetti or linguini but some will prefer buttered rice.

Of course I used my Thermomix to cook. I was actually quite busy that day. I had this dish cooking while the lash technician did my lashes on my couch at home,

Chefanddivine beef stroganoff

  • 500g beef cubes
  • 1 brown onion
  • 30 grams butter
  • 1 tsp powder chilli (I used my Korean bought chilli powder)
  • Herbs - parsley, thyme (optional for garnish)
  • 1 TBSP chicken stock powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 200g fresh mushrooms (I used brown as it was cheaper that day)
  • 50g tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional but taste better with red wine)
  • 1 carrot cut into 2cm chunks
  • 1 potato quartered
  • 200 g whole cream (1 pack usually)

Directions <Thermomix directions>

  1. Chop the parsley and set aside <3 secondsspeed 7>

  2. Chop the onion <3 seconds, speed 7, scrap down>

  3. Saute onion, butter, paprika and cayenne pepper until fragrant <Add butter etc into the bowl with onion, saute 3 minutes, Varoma, speed 1>

  4. Season the beef cubes with the salt

  5. Sear all sides of the beef cubes to seal in the juices (do not press the beef)
  6. Add both the beef cubes, potatoes, carrots and the thyme to cook about 10 minutes <Cook for 10 minutes at 100 degrees, reverse, speed 1>

  7. Add all remaining ingredients (excluding parsley) and cook for 10 minutes <cook 10min, 100 degrees, reverse, speed 1>

  8. The potatoes should thicken the sauce, if not you may add some corn starch
  9. Let the dish sit for 5 minutes before serving

  10. You may serve with buttered pasta (to cook just follow instructions on the pack either with your Thermomix or in the pot on the stove). Buttered pasta means you may stir in some butter, teeny pinch of salt and pepper (optional since the beef stroganoff will be savoury) after the pasta is cooked to al dente and drained.

Serve hot with reserved fresh parsley as a garnish (I was out of parsley) 😁
