How to make your own Beeswax Candles
Posted by Divine Chef on
This Christmas I decided to make it more special with hand-made gifts for my dearest BFFs. Mentally, I knew what would be appreciated. Anything that is natural, chemical-free, artisanal aka "handmade gifts" are always appreciated. End of the day, thoughtful gifts are more meaningful.
For Enna and Mei, I made beeswax tin candle and bath gel using Young Living essential oils. For Selina and Emily, I made my sambal and HK style chilli sauces because I know these two loves to cook. I made some more bath gel using Ylang Ylang essential oil for Edwina since she is recently attached and bath salt with Stress Away essential oil blend for Marylyn who is highly strung and sleep deprived with a new baby.
To make the chilli sauces, check out the recipes here.
I made good use of the stash of beeswax from a New Zealand bees farm by finally making candles !
On its own, the milky yellow hued beeswax already smells heavenly. I added a bit of Japanese Cherry Blossom oil as I know Enna and Mei would love stronger fragrance. Took about 1.5 hour to double boil and melt the entire block of beeswax but the end result is worth the effort !
